Wincanton, the largest British third-party logistics (3PL) company, has secured a three-year contract with Sofa Club to provide a complete supply chain and eFulfilment solution for the retailer, including its bespoke two-person home delivery service.
As the sole supplier of logistics services for Sofa Club, Wincanton will manage the transportation of goods to and from its shared-user warehouse in Worksop, all storage processes on-site, store replenishment and nationwide home delivery.
A key element of the service is Wincanton’s ability to provide two-person, “white glove” home delivery. This service includes assembly of goods in each customer’s room of choice, removal of all packaging and an optional sofa recycling scheme in partnership with the British Heart Foundation.
All Sofa Club customers will benefit from Wincanton’s enhanced delivery booking system. This includes selection of delivery date, regular order updates and a confirmed two-hour delivery slot.
Paul Durkin, Director of Home & eFulfilment at Wincanton, said:
“An excellent customer experience is essential for all retailers. As a business that conducts a high proportion of its sales online, getting the customer journey right to achieve customer satisfaction is a priority for Sofa Club. As a market-leading eFulfilment service partner, Wincanton is excited to be partnering with Sofa Club to support its growth plans.”
Louis Rose, Managing Director at Sofa Club, said:
“It is vital that Sofa Club has a logistics partner who shares our commitment to offering the best possible customer experience. I have been very impressed by Wincanton’s attention to detail and feel confident that we have a shared vision of the customer journey. Our customers’ expectations are understandably high but I’m confident Wincanton will empower us to exceed those expectations.”
Wincanton’s Home Delivery Network fleet is equipped with the latest telematics and 360-degree camera technology, provided by MiX Telematics. This investment provides enhanced safety for its drivers and other road users, as well as improved on-road efficiency.
